Food supplement in the form of a hard capsule containing pantothenic acid, i.e. vitamin B5. Vitamin B5 contributes to the proper synthesis and metabolism of steroid hormones, vitamin D and some neurotransmitters.

Would you like to increase your energy levels and mental performance? Take a look at whether you are providing yourself with adequate amounts of vitamin B5. It is this nutrient that plays an important role in relieving excessive fatigue and maintaining normal brain function. Reach for vitamin B5, pantothenic acid, 200 mg and see how it can affect your wellbeing.

Pantothenic acid is one of the eight vitamins belonging to the B-complex group. Supplying it in adequate amounts influences many processes in the body. It has been shown to contribute to the maintenance of normal energy metabolism, steroid hormones, vitamin D and some neurotransmitters. It also has an effect on reducing feelings of fatigue and tiredness and helps to maintain mental performance at an optimal level. The main function of this vitamin is the synthesis of coenzyme A (CoA) [1]. Pantothenic acid is essential for the formation of CoA, which in turn plays an important role in energy production and the function of many enzymes, as well as in oxidative metabolism and contributes to brain cell structure and function by participating in the synthesis of cholesterol, amino acids, phospholipids and fatty acids [2]. There is speculation that pantothenic acid deficiency may affect myelin loss and neurodegeneration and cognitive impairment, particularly age-related cognitive impairment [3].

Pantothenic acid, which is one of the forms of vitamin B5, is one of the water-soluble vitamins. The name of this nutrient comes from the Greek word 'panthos', meaning 'everywhere'. Vitamin B5 is found in both animal and plant foods, and the main sources are: offal (e.g. liver), meat, eggs, dairy products, nuts, whole grain cereals, legumes, brassica vegetables and many others. Because vitamin B5 is easily provided with the diet, deficiencies are not very common and usually occur in malnourished people and those following a diet consisting of highly processed, canned or frozen foods that are deficient in this vitamin. An inadequate supply of pantothenic acid primarily affects individual functions of the nervous and digestive systems. Symptoms of vitamin B5 deficiency include headaches, irritability, anxiety, excessive fatigue, paresthesias, muscle cramps and coordination disorders, as well as diarrhoea, burning in the epigastrium and general abdominal discomfort. Pantothenic acid supplementation may be helpful in taking care of the body's balance.

Our supplement has a high pantothenic acid content. The recommended daily serving (1 capsule) contains as much as 200 mg of calcium D-pantothenate, which corresponds to 3333% of the RWS. The product is characterised by its so-called clean label, which means that there are no unnecessary additives. We recommend taking 1 capsule daily, preferably in the morning.
